Before I started writing this article, I got up and put on some lipstick.
Strange? Maybe, but it’s something that gives me a push of confidence when I need to sharpen my sass and uplift my mood a little. I’m sure a lot of women can relate to this. A small touch of colour on our lips can complete an outfit, add signature to a look or even improve our posture. I definitely relate to that last one, I notice I unconsciously straighten my posture and raise my chin a little. This gives me a more professional and ‘ready’ appearance. This also allows me to speak more eloquently and clearly as my airways have more space to make all the sounds required.
There are many ways of giving yourself a quick confidence boost, such as going for a quick run, getting your hair done or your beard lined up. Some of my other methods are taking a shower or sending a short message to someone I care about and just check in on them and let them know how I’m doing. In that moment I quickly reflect on my state of consciousness and become aware of how to better manage the tasks at hand. I also like to quickly practice a skill that I am proud of, such as doing a cartwheel. Reminding myself that I am still capable of doing something I love sends my confidence levels soaring.
I think one of the biggest reasons a quick confidence boost is so important is because it enables us to become the 2.0 of ourselves, reminds us that it the highest performing version of ourselves is easily accessible. I encourage you to go through your list of quick confidence boost tasks and accelerate yourself to your highest potential today.
